ABOUT US
What is Undergraduate Research?
Why do Undergraduate Research?
How is the learning different than classroom learning?
The President of Georgia Tech strongly believes in the value of undergraduates and invites them to experience the excitement of new discovery through research. He established the President’s Undergraduate Research Awards (PURA) to encourage and supplement undergraduate research opportunities for all majors. Currently over 200 students are awarded up to $1500 in research salary to work with a faculty mentor or up to $1000 funding to present work at a professional conference.
Research is not always in laboratory and scientific settings. New discoveries in literature, social sciences, architecture, and business are also exciting avenues of learning. Students can participate in undergraduate research for course credit or pay, part time or full time. Opportunities are available institute-wide or within specific colleges and schools. Interdisciplinary opportunities are also available. Find a faculty member whose interests match yours and start doing research today!
