Undergraduate Research Ambassadors (URA) is a mentoring program that leverages experienced peer undergraduate researchers to help fellow students navigate the research process, from finding new lab positions to applying for scholarships like PURA. As part of URA, student leaders are empowered to develop their own undergraduate research programming to facilitate this mentoring. Some possibilities include:
- Encouraging students to get more involved in undergraduate research
- Maintaining a research opportunity database to connect students to open research positions
- Developing workshops to assist students interested in undergraduate research
- Presenting about undergraduate research in classes such as GT1000
- Publicizing undergraduate research via social media
- Planning events like the Undergraduate Research Symposium and informational sessions throughout the semester
To learn more about our upcoming initiatives, please visit the URA Events page and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn!
The term for each ambassador is one academic year (Fall to Summer).
